SUMMARY:Bike the Barns
DESCRIPTION:What is Bike the Barns?\n\n\n\n\n\nBike the Barns is a fun full-day event for both casual and experienced bike riders. Travel along a beautiful\, well-marked route on low-traffic country roads\, stopping at local farms throughout the day. Enjoy farm tours\, gourmet local food\, craft libations\, on-farm activities and live music at each stop. \n\nThe ride is also FairShare CSA Coalition’s largest fundraiser. Proceeds from the ride benefit our organization and the Partner Shares Program\, which helps low-income households afford farm-fresh veggies. Sign up for the ride with general registration\, or go the extra mile and register as a fundraiser rider to help families access food grown by a CSA farmer in their community. \n​ \nJoin us this fall as we bike to ensure fresh food for everyone! \n​ \nThis year’s ride is at capacity. Put your name on the waitlist if you’d like to be notified of any last-minute available spots. We will notify you by Thursday\, September 12. \nMore information\nThis year’s ride will start and end at Lake Leota Park in beautiful Evansville\, WI.  \nUpon exiting the park\, participants will explore the countryside on their way to Tipi Produce\, Winterfell Acres\, Still Point Flower Farm\, and (for the adventurous long route riders) Yowela Farms. Riders can choose from two route options: a short route (~37 miles) and a long route (~58 miles). \n​ \nBike the Barns is a charity bike ride\, and you can put the “fun” in fundraising by registering as a fundraiser rider or making a gift on our fundraising page! Every dollar raised goes directly to feeding members of our community. \n​ \n​ \n SCHEDULE OF THE DAY:  \n\n\n8 – 9:30 AM: Day-of rider checkin and light breakfast\, Lake Leota Park \n\n\n9 AM: Long route riders depart \n\n\n10 AM: Short route riders depart \n\n\nThe Ride: 3-4 farm stops with food\, beverage\, music\, and farm fun! \n\n\n2:30 – 6PM: After Party at Lake Leota Park \n\n\n​ \n REGISTRATION INCLUDES:  \n\n\nFood & beverage: light breakfast\, snack stops\, lunch\, after party meal \n\n\n      + drink tickets​​ \n\n\nFarm tours and interactive on-farm activities \n\n\nLive music at each stop \n\n\nParticipant Gift Bag & special rider item \n\n\nA well-marked and fully supported scenic bike route \n\n\nAnd a whole lot of fun!  \n\n\n​ \nHave questions? \nCall FairShare at (608) 226-0300 or email bikethebarns@csacoalition.org. \n​
