DESCRIPTION:Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLaunches Sunday\, September 22!\nWe’re excited for the upcoming launch of Madison’s first ever Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route! \nThrough the use of larger buses\, dedicated lanes\, and a new fare collection system\, Metro’s Rapid Route A will move riders more quickly and efficiently through the community. \nRapid Route A Map \nCheck out our list of new system features and how to ride and frequently asked questions information. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBRT Features\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nElectric Buses\n\n\nAll-electric articulated buses will run on Rapid Route A\, as well as Routes B and F. These buses are quieter\, more eco-friendly and hold 50% more riders than our local buses. \n\n\n\n\nNew Fare System\n\n\nBoard all buses more quickly with Metro’s new tap FastFare system that will roll out in late August. Ticket vending machines will be available at BRT stations so riders using cash can purchase fares before getting on the bus. \n\n\n\n\nBus-Only Traffic Lanes\n\n\nBuses will make their way more efficiently through traffic with bus-only travel lanes and traffic signal priority. \n\n\n\n\nNew Bus Tracking Technology\n\n\nNew equipment is being installed now on all Metro buses to make it easier to plan your trip and track your bus. \n\n\n\n\nAccessibility Features\n\n\nNew Metro buses and stations have a number of features that make it easier and more convenient for everyone to ride. \n\n\n\n\nBike Racks\n\n\nBike racks are located inside the rear door of each BRT bus. \n\n\n\n\nStation Ticket Machines\n\n\nFor riders using cash\, automatic ticket machines are available at most stations. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet the Latest Updates!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign up for email and text alerts\nEmail: mymetrobus@cityofmadison.com\nFollow on X\, Facebook\, and Instagram
